Seodaemun-gu Yeonhui-dong Mabom Council Gifts Bath Coupons to 100 Vulnerable Households

'Our Neighborhood Healing Bathhouse Day' Project Promotion

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 14th that the Yeonhui-dong Mabom Council recently warmed hearts by gifting 300 bath coupons to 100 vulnerable households in the area, including low-income elderly and disabled families.

The council promoted the project "Our Neighborhood Healing Bathhouse Day" as a welfare-specialized initiative to support neighbors who might neglect hygiene management due to the cold winter weather.

The coupons were delivered three per household by visits from the Yeonhui-dong welfare chief, Mabom Council chairman, welfare planners, and visiting nurses, who also provided guidance on health rules and behavioral measures to prepare for the cold wave.

Grandmother Kim, who received the bath coupons, expressed her gratitude, saying, "I had hesitated due to the cost burden, but now I can go to the bathhouse with a more comfortable mind."

Choi Jae-sook, chairman of the Yeonhui-dong Mabom Council, said, "We carried out this project with small sincerity for low-income elderly and disabled neighbors," and expressed her ambition, "We will continue to promote various welfare-specialized projects for socially marginalized groups in the community in the new year."

The "Mabom Council" is the proper name of the "Seodaemun-gu Dong Community Security Council," a public-private welfare cooperation organization at the neighborhood level, meaning "caring for neighbors' hearts and the village."
