[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The Party for Democracy and Peace stated on the 14th that President Moon Jae-in's New Year's press conference was "generally a balanced perspective that increased the predictability of future policies and was a moderate press conference," but added that "it is still insufficient."

Park Joo-hyun, the chief spokesperson of the Party for Democracy and Peace, said in a commentary on the same day, "There was only a strong declaration of will regarding the already soaring real estate prices and the widening asset polarization, but there was no sincere apology or tangible measures."

Park also pointed out, "There was no serious recognition or presentation of effective goals and measures regarding the polarization and regional disparities that have not improved even under the Moon Jae-in administration."

Park further stated, "In the relationship with the prosecution, there was only an emphasis on personnel authority and prosecution reform, but no reflection on excessive demotions. In particular, it is difficult to find any will regarding a decentralized presidential system, public reform, or economic reform, which makes the title of a reform government meaningless. Leading only election system reform, which was passively dragged in and whose content was even reduced, is not the right attitude for a reform government."
