“An Impression of Being Blocked by an 'Invisible Wall'”
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 14th, the Alternative New Party evaluated President Moon Jae-in's New Year's press conference as "relatively progressive in terms of communication efforts compared to past press conferences or dialogues with the public, but insufficient in presenting bold and fresh national momentum as the second half of the administration begins."
Kim Jeong-hyun, spokesperson for the Alternative New Party, said in a commentary on the day, "Although cooperation was sought amid various difficulties in state administration, it still gives the impression of being blocked by an 'invisible wall'."
Regarding the issue of cooperation, he pointed out, "While lamenting the limitations of existing party politics, the president failed to demonstrate the political power to strongly lead and overcome them."
He added, "In matters such as the Cho Kuk incident and the Yoon Seok-yeol prosecution issue, efforts were made to clearly define boundaries as the appointing authority, but the president should have more firmly emphasized political neutrality as the highest national leader."
Regarding economic issues, Spokesperson Kim stated, "There is still a gap from the public's perception index, and the market's response to government policies remains skeptical, making it difficult to confirm a vision for overcoming these challenges."
Spokesperson Kim also said, "The reaffirmation of the existing mediator position in North America and inter-Korean relations is interpreted as considering the recent dialogue tone circulating between North America."
