[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The Democratic Party of Korea responded on the 14th to President Moon Jae-in's New Year's press conference by saying, "We were able to reaffirm President Moon's commitment to making the lives of the people warmer through definite change, and we deeply empathize with this."
Lee Jae-jung, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, commented, "It was an opportunity to more thoroughly inform the public about the New Year's political vision to create definite change in the Republic of Korea through 'co-prosperity leap.' President Moon, based on a deep understanding of overall national issues, sincerely answered questions from reporters in a Q&A format, approaching the people more closely."
He continued, "There was broad dialogue on the Moon Jae-in administration's overall governance, including bold progress in inter-Korean dialogue and exchange cooperation for peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula, completion of social reforms such as prosecution reform, national unity, regulatory innovation, the livelihood economy, balanced development, population policy, politics, and diplomacy."
The spokesperson added, "Fortunately, yesterday the National Assembly processed reform and livelihood legislation amid the people's support and patience, establishing an institutional foundation for this. The new 100 years of the Republic of Korea is just beginning. The National Assembly must fully support the governance tasks for 'innovation,' 'inclusion,' 'fairness,' and 'peace.'"
