[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu Reporter] President Moon Jae-in stated, "Between South and North Korea, it is necessary not to only rely on North Korea-US talks but to promote North Korea-US talks through inter-Korean dialogue."
On the 14th, President Moon held a New Year's press conference under the subtitle "Certain Change, Republic of Korea 2020" at the Blue House State Guest House, saying, "Although there are limitations due to international sanctions, specific discussions are needed on individual tourism, sports exchanges, joint entrance at the Tokyo Olympics, and unified teams that South and North Korea can undertake," and added, "If exceptional approval from UN sanctions is required for cooperation in inter-Korean relations, we will strive to obtain it."
This is President Moon's third New Year's press conference. Since he delivered a New Year's address on the 7th of this year, unlike previous years, the conference proceeded in a Q&A format after a brief opening remark of about three minutes without a separate New Year's address. The Q&A with reporters was divided into three topics?politics and society, livelihood and economy, and diplomacy and security?without pre-selecting questioners.
