Included in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 5-Year Plan
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Yoseop] A green light has been given to Busan City's last nationally supported local road project, the "National Local Road No. 58 Gadeok Bridge~Songjeong IC Overpass Construction" project.
Busan City announced on the 14th that the "National Local Road No. 58 Gadeok Bridge~Songjeong IC Overpass Construction" project has been selected as a preliminary feasibility study target under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "5th National Road and Local Road Five-Year Plan."
This project involves constructing a 4-lane overpass over a 2.6 km section connecting Gadeok Bridge and Songjeong Interchange (IC), which links the north and south of Busan, with a total project cost reaching 136.1 billion KRW.
Busan City expects that upon completion of this project, the increased traffic volume due to the development of Busan New Port and the habitual congestion in the internal roads of Noksan Industrial Complex will be resolved. Once the Busan New Port~Gimhae Expressway, which is exempt from preliminary feasibility study, is constructed, Gadeok Bridge, Busan New Port·Gimhae Expressway, and Jungang Expressway will be connected, securing continuity of the north-south axis of Busan. This will enable smooth handling of traffic and cargo volume, and significant synergy effects are anticipated.
Yang Geum-seok, Director of Road Planning at Busan City, said, "Since we achieved this result through continuous consultations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, we will do our best to ensure the preliminary feasibility study passes through ongoing communication and cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Finance."
