[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Singer Park Wankyu, who appeared on KBS 1TV variety show 'TV Loads Love,' confessed to having experienced financial hardship in the past.
In the recent broadcast of KBS 1TV's 'TV Loads Love,' a scene was revealed where Park Wankyu reunites with his middle school teacher, Park Seongyoung.
On the show, Park Wankyu shared an anecdote about receiving help from Teacher Park in the past. Due to severe financial difficulties, he received monetary assistance but felt guilty and could not contact her afterward.
Park Wankyu confessed, "When I sang 'Cheonnyeon-ui Sarang' (A Thousand Years of Love), I only earned 1 million won per month," adding, "I made a bad contract. Since I had children, I needed money."
He continued, "I called the teacher to ask for a loan," and lamented, "I couldn't properly explain and felt sorry for making such a call, so I never contacted her again."
During the reunion with his mentor on the show, Park Wankyu apologized for his past rudeness. In response, Teacher Park embraced him, saying, "Wankyu, you went through a lot. I am proud of you."
Meanwhile, Park Wankyu debuted in 1997 with the 5th album 'Discovery of Fire' of the group 'Buhwal.'
