Samsung Electronics Screen Trio Sweeps 'CES Best Product Awards'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 12th that it won 198 awards at on-site awards selected by major global media, including 46 'CES Innovation Awards' presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) at 'CES 2020' held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 7th to the 10th (local time).

In the TV category, which won the CES Innovation Award for nine consecutive years, the QLED 8K, 'The Wall' featuring Micro LED, and Lifestyle TV all received favorable evaluations.

The QLED 8K was selected as the 'Best of CES' by TechRadar, AVS Forum, Trusted Reviews, Pocket-lint, CNET, and others. TechRadar stated, "If we were to pick only one product on the list of the best technologies of 2020, it would be Samsung's QLED 8K," adding, "It features an almost invisible bezel, excellent brightness, and contrast."

In particular, the 'Q-Symphony' feature, which optimizes sound by utilizing the speakers of both the TV and soundbar when connected, received the 'Best Innovation Award' from the CTA.

'The Sero,' which was launched domestically last year and is scheduled to be introduced to overseas markets such as North America and Europe, also attracted attention. Major U.S. news magazine Time, as well as IT specialized media Reviewed.com, CNET, and TechRadar, selected The Sero as the 'Best of CES.'

Time mentioned, "With numerous vertical video contents emerging, Samsung The Sero will make this viewing experience more enjoyable." The Sero is a product that won the CES Best Innovation Award selected by the CTA.

'The Wall' was listed in CNET's 'Best Technology of CES' and Pocket-lint's 'Best Product of CES.' The Wall Street Journal and CNET, both U.S. media outlets, selected Samsung Electronics' QLED 8K, The Sero, and The Wall as the best products side by side.

In the home appliances category, the 'Family Hub' refrigerator won the innovation award selected by the CTA for five consecutive years, and the newly introduced 'Cube Refrigerator' at this CES also received favorable reviews.

Business Insider selected Samsung Electronics' Cube Refrigerator as both the 'Best New Product at CES' and the 'Best Home Appliance,' introducing it as a refrigerator for enthusiasts who want to optimally store wine, beer, and cosmetics, while also praising its Internet of Things (IoT) functionality through SmartThings.

In the mobile category, the newly unveiled 'Galaxy Chromebook,' 'Galaxy S10 Lite,' and 'Galaxy Note10 Lite' were honored as the best products. IT specialized media Gizmodo evaluated, "The Galaxy Chromebook is the coolest Chromebook made so far." This product swept more than 20 on-site awards, including CNET's 'Best Laptop at CES' and BGR and Engadget's 'Best of CES.'
