Hai Air Launches Service, Opening Yeosu-Gimpo Air Route

Yeosu-Gimpo Inaugural Flight Ceremony on the 9th, Regular Flights Begin from the 22nd

The small airline Hi Air (CEO Yoon Hyung-kwan) announced on the 10th that it held a launch ceremony for the new Yeosu?Gimpo route at Yeosu Airport in Jeollanam-do on the 9th.

About 100 people attended the launch ceremony, including National Assembly members Lee Yong-joo and Choi Do-ja, Yeosu City Deputy Mayor Seo Eun-soo, Suncheon City Deputy Mayor Kim Byung-joo, and Gwangyang City Deputy Mayor Kim Myung-won.

Hi Air plans to operate one round trip daily on the Yeosu?Gimpo route as a non-scheduled flight until the 19th, then start regular scheduled flights from the 22nd.

The flight departs Gimpo Airport at 2:40 PM and arrives at Yeosu Airport at 4:00 PM, then departs Yeosu Airport at 4:30 PM and arrives at Gimpo Airport at 5:50 PM.

The regular flights scheduled to begin on the 22nd will operate at the same times.

After launching the Yeosu?Gimpo route, Hi Air is also considering expanding routes to Yeosu?Ulsan, Ulsan?Jeju, and Yeosu?Jeju based on passenger load factors.

Hi Air CEO Yoon Hyung-kwan expressed his ambition, saying, “We will become an airline that contributes to improving transportation convenience for residents in the eastern region of Jeollanam-do, as well as to the tourism industry and regional economic revitalization.”

Yeosu City Deputy Mayor Seo Eun-soo said, “Despite the increasing demand for air travel, the reduction of the Gimpo route was a serious concern. We expect that Hi Air’s launch of the Yeosu?Gimpo route will enhance citizens’ convenience and help revitalize Yeosu Airport.”
