On the same day, Iran fired a dozen or more missiles at two U.S. military bases in Iraq: Al Asad Airbase and Erbil Base.

Earlier, Iran's state broadcaster also reported that "one base was completely destroyed."

As Iran launched missile attacks on U.S. military bases stationed in Iraq around 1:30 a.m., CNN reported that no American casualties appear to have occurred yet.

According to the report, thanks to alarms sounding before the missiles arrived, the military was able to move to shelters.

Department of Defense spokesperson Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement, "The Department of Defense has taken all measures to protect personnel and partners recently," adding, "We have maintained a high level of vigilance in preparation for threats from Iran."

CNN cited a U.S. military official saying, "The military sounded early warnings sufficiently so that everyone was able to reach bunkers in time."

It also reported that the attacked locations are areas where few Americans reside.

The Washington Post (WP) also reported, "There is still no clear information on whether there were U.S. casualties from Iran's attacks on two U.S. military bases in Iraq."

Meanwhile, the Danish military stationed at Al Asad base, which was heavily targeted by Iranian missile attacks, reported no casualties. The Danish Ministry of Defense stated on its website that none of the 130 Danish troops deployed to Al Asad Airbase in Iraq, which was hit by Iran's ballistic missile strikes, were injured or killed.
