[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 8th that it will hold a joint "live sales event" with Korean and Chinese Wanghong influencers.
The event will take place from today until the 9th in Jeju Island. It will be conducted by 26 "Korean-style Wanghong" influencers directly trained by the Corporation and 7 Chinese Wanghong influencers. The broadcast is scheduled to air from 7 PM to midnight through Taobao, China's largest online shopping mall.
Since October last year, the Corporation has been directly training Korean-style Wanghong influencers. The goal is to establish a dedicated sales channel for Chinese online markets for domestic small and medium-sized enterprises' products, conducting three months of training and practical education.
Ban Jeongsik, head of the Corporation's Online Export Division, said, "Wanghong influencers are an effective marketing tool that can directly communicate with consumers in real time, leading to rapid brand awareness improvement and sales." He added, "Starting with the Korean-style Wanghong influencers trained directly by the Corporation, the first public institution in Korea to do so, we plan to expand the training scale to 200 people this year, including influencers and power sellers from the New Southern region."
