[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Sung-yeol] Test takers are experiencing inconvenience as the Korean History Proficiency Test website is inaccessible due to a surge in visitors.
Today (the 7th) at 9 a.m., the application period for the 46th Korean History Proficiency Test began. The test date for the 46th Korean History Proficiency Test is February 8, and applications can only be submitted online through the website. The application deadline is 6 p.m. on the 16th.
The Korean History Proficiency Test officials have requested applicants to use a computer rather than mobile phones or tablet PCs, as these devices may have difficulties or functional errors when accessing the site.
As a result, a large number of users trying to register for the exam since early morning have caused temporary website inaccessibility. As of 10 a.m., visitors to the Korean History Proficiency Test website see a message stating "Cannot connect to the site."
Although there is still plenty of time before the application deadline, applicants hoping to register at their preferred test centers are expressing anxiety.
Test takers voiced their frustrations on social networking services (SNS), saying, "Is this an application or ticketing? I'm paying money and want to take the test, but this makes me angry," "I waited 40 minutes to apply, but what am I supposed to do if I can't even access the site?" and "Every time the test is held, the server crashes. They should take preventive measures in advance. Are they deciding pass or fail based on the application process?"
