"10.25-Inch Navigation Applied"…2020 Kona Electric Vehicle Released

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company launched the '2020 Kona Electric' on the 6th, enhancing its marketability by applying customer-preferred convenience features.


Hyundai applied a 10.25-inch navigation system as standard across all trims of the 2020 Kona Electric, providing multimedia content on a wider and clearer screen. The navigation system also features a new automatic wireless update (OTA) function to improve customer convenience.


In particular, the split-screen function utilizing the navigation screen installed in the 2020 Kona Electric offers various information such as weather, sports, and entertainment, enhancing user experience. Specialized electric vehicle functions such as fast and slow charger status, scheduled charging, scheduled climate control, and driving range display are also available.

Additionally, Hyundai applied a new air purification mode and installed a micro air filter in the 2020 Kona Electric to improve the air quality inside the vehicle by filtering fine dust. The company also added second-row heated seats as an option, a customer-preferred feature, to enhance rear passenger comfort.


A Hyundai official stated, "The Kona Electric sold 13,587 units domestically last year, becoming the best-selling electric vehicle in Korea for two consecutive years. It boasts the longest driving range in its class, capable of 406 km on a single charge, and with enhanced customer-preferred convenience features, we expect customer satisfaction to increase significantly."


The price of the 2020 Kona Electric 64kWh model, after electric vehicle tax benefits, is 46.9 million KRW for the Modern trim and 48.9 million KRW for the Premium trim.


Meanwhile, the Kona Electric has been recognized for its excellent marketability by winning the '2019 North American SUV of the Year,' being selected among the '2019 WardsAuto 10 Best Engines,' and receiving the '2019 Ernest John Award Best EV' category, solidifying its position as a best-selling electric vehicle both domestically and internationally.
