KBS’ series “Seo-young, My Daughter” has captured the biggest number of viewers on last week’s TV ratings chart, depicting its heartbreaking love story.

The weekend series secured its top position for seventh straight weeks after earning 31 percent of the total viewers during the week of November 12 to 18, TNmS’ [Total National Multimedia Statistics] data showed on Monday.

In last week’s episodes, a hopeless love story between Sang-woo [played by Park Hae-jin] and Mi-kyoung [Park Jung-a] made the audiences burst into tears feeling sympathy with the couple’s distinctive status gap.

Sitting on No. 2 is KBS’ daily series “Cheer Up, Mr. Kim!,” which attracted 26.0 percent of ratings in its second week of 150-episode running.

The family drama, starring idol group Shinhwa’s Kim Dong-wan, pivots around a 32-year-old bachelor Kim Tae-pyeong [played by Kim], who accidentally becomes a guardian of four children, and two women who gradually fall into good-hearted Tae-pyeong.

While KBS’ comedy program “Gag Concert” kept its third status with 21.4 ratings, “KBS 9 o’clock News” followed next with 20.8 percent during the same time frame.

With only seven more episodes left to run, SBS’ daily series “Still You” scored 19.5 percent of the audience, rounding out the top five of the chart.

Other programs entertained the public last week were MBC weekend series “May Queen,” KBS hit drama “The Innocent Man,” SBS hit variety show “I Like Sundays,” MBC’s reality show “Infinite Challenge” and SBS’ comedy show “Star King.”

In the meantime, AGB Nielson Media Research’s data showed the top three programs in same order yet slightly different figures to the TNmS’ during the third week of November.

While “My Daughter, Seo-young” grabbed the top seed with 29.5 percent, “Cheer Up, Mr. Kim” and “Gag Concert” followed next with 23.5 and 20.4 percent of ratings, respectively.
