K-pop sensation PSY has scored the top spot on KBS' music show "Music Bank," making it his first win on a televised music program since his return in mid-July.
On Friday's episode of "Music Bank," PSY's "Gangnam Style" rose to the No. 1 spot the program's chart, beating out last week's winner BEAST's "Beautiful Night."
After his song was announced as the song of the week, the program's emcee After School’s UIE congratulated PSY’s first winning in the program and promised to deliver the trophy to him since was absent on Friday's show.
PSY, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, broke into the music scene with his first studio album “Psy From The Psycho World” in 2001.
The 36-year-old singer has gained international fame with his sixth studio album "Six Rules, Part. 1" dropped on July 15.
Being nicknamed as 'the second Macarena,' the music video for the title track “Gangnam Style" featured his funny lyrics and popular horse dance and reached over 40 million views on his official YouTube channel as of Monday morning.
Meanwhile, last Friday’s show featured other performances by BoA, Super Junior, BEAST, SISTAR, B.A.P, VIXX and TASTY.
