Korean boy band MBLAQ has topped music charts in Japan with their latest release, according to the respective website on Thursday.
Oricon's weekly music chart showed that MBLAQ's second Japanese single "Baby U!" seated itself in the No. 2 spot after moving 42,624 copies upon its release on October 26.
"Baby U!" which is also the theme song for Japanese cartoon "Beelzebub," was named the most popular song in the country under the 'Hot Animation' category on Billboard Japan's chart.
Meanwhile, the boys held a series of fan meetings in Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo late last month to celebrate the release of "Baby U!" which attracted a total of 35,000 fans.
MBLAQ made their debut in 2009 with their single album "JUST BLAQ" and expanded their careers into Japan in June this year with "Your Luv." The song was used as the theme song for Japanese animation "Blade."
The boys will focus on their activities in Japan till the end of November and then visit several countries overseas including Taiwan, Las Vegas and Australia.
