Korean actor Kim Dong-wan and actresses Moon Jung-hee and Honey Lee have been cast in an upcoming film starring Kim Myung-min.
A press release from the movie's producer Ozone Films said on Tuesday that Kim, Moon and Lee recently signed on for the film named "Horsehair Worm" (translated title) which will begin shooting early next month.
Kim will play a detective named Jae-pil who tries to help his older brother Jae-hyuk, played by Kim Myung-min, an employee of a pharmaceutical company, who struggles to save his family from a disaster.
Moon will play Jae-hyuk's wife named Kyung-soon who is infected by the horsehair worms while Lee will play Jae-pil's fiance that begins research on the worms.
"Worm" will tell the story of Jae-hyuk who tries to figure out why people start dying from the worms which are parasitic on insects and pierce out of their hosts when they grow.
The movie, written and directed by Park Jung-woo whose works include "Kick the Moon," "Jail Breaker" and "Big Bang, is slated to open in local theaters next year.
