“Smile Again” triumphs for 9th week

KBS daily drama “Smile Again” came first on TV charts for the ninth week in-a-row, according to data by two media research companies on Monday.

During the final week of March, “Smile Again” marked an average viewership rating of 43 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics’ (TNmS) survey and 41 percent on AGB Nielsen Media Research’s (AGB) poll, breaching the 40 percent mark for the first time since its premiere in early October of last year.

In the latest episodes, a tearful reunion took place between Dong-hae’s mother Anna (Do Ji-won) and her long-lost parents - the chairman and his wife of Hotel Camellia - who got separated due to a hurricane accident nearly 40 years ago. Anna's mother (Jung Young-sook) then learns that Ae-ri (Hong Hye-sook) and Sae-wa (Park Jung-a) have been deliberately trying to hide that fact due to the family fortune.

KBS weekend drama “My Love, My Family” took the second place with an average viewership rating of 22.2 percent on TNmS' chart and 22.4 percent on AGB’s report, its average rating showing about 0.3 percent to 0.9 percent drop from the previous week.

Hye-jin (Park Joo-mi) and Seung-woo (Lee Sang-woo) become close to each other despite their being married to different people. However Hye-jin’s husband Dong-hoon (Lee Jae-ryeong) receives a photo of the his wife happy with Seung-woo while Seung-woo’s wife shows up to tell Hye-jin to back off.

Coming in at No.3 was KBS 9 o’clock News which scored an average 22.2 percent on TNmS' chart and 21.1 percent on AGB’s poll, about a one to two percent rise from the last time.

Other shows that was ranked within the top 10 list of the two charts from March 28 to April 3 were “Happy Sunday,” “MBC Star Audition,” “Gag Concert,” “World Changing Quiz,” “Happy Maker Son-jung,” “New Gisaeng Story,” and “The Duo.”
