Group BEAST’s Japanese debut single “SHOCK” debuted on second place on the prestigious Japanese Oricon daily chart today.
According to data on Oricon’s official website, the record released just yesterday claimed second place on the singles chart after selling over 10,000 copies on the day it went on sale.
The ringtone version of “SHOCK” had topped the daily singles chart of Japan's biggest mobile website RecoChoku on the day of its release on March 8.
Meanwhile, the group’s first performance for the new single which had been set for later this week have been cancelled due to last week’s earthquake in Japan accompanied by a massive tsunami that devastated the northeastern part of Japan.
BEAST, composed of members Du-jun, Hyun-seung, Dong-woon, Gi-kwang, Yo-seop and Jun-hyung that debuted in Korea in 2009 revved up for their singing career in Japan through a showcase in the country late last year.
