Goryeong County Holds First Goryeong Strawberry Export Shipment Ceremony to Hong Kong

200kg of Geumsil Strawberries Shipped
Aiming for 30% Increase in Exports Compared to Last Year

Goryeong County (Governor Lee Namcheol) held the 2025 Goryeong Strawberry First Export Shipment Ceremony to Hong Kong on November 28 at the Wooridul N Agricultural Cooperative Corporation in Daegaya-eup.

This shipment marks the beginning of full-scale overseas market distribution, with 200 kilograms of the Geumsil variety being exported.

From December 18, 2024, to May 1, 2025, Wooridul N Agricultural Cooperative Corporation has exported a total of 23 tons of strawberries, expanding its market not only to Hong Kong but also to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia. This year, the company is preparing to achieve an approximately 30% increase in exports compared to the previous year.

Goryeong County plans to continue supporting the stabilization of export logistics, standards, and quality by strengthening the production base for high-quality strawberries such as Geumsil and Seolhyang, and by facilitating cooperation between local growers and export companies to actively respond to overseas buyers' demand.

The county expects that this shipment will further accelerate the overseas expansion of Goryeong strawberries and will continue to provide various administrative support to ensure stable income for local farmers and to establish a sustainable production base.
