"Operation Concludes Without Large-Scale Motorcycle Gangs"
As a result of a focused crackdown on reckless driving during Independence Movement Day, police detected more than 1,600 violations.
The National Police Agency announced on March 2 that it had deployed 3,210 officers, including traffic police, from February 28 to March 1 to carry out enforcement against group risky behaviors and reckless driving involving motorcycles, resulting in the detection of 1,668 cases.

The violations included 1,423 notifications of fines, 90 cases of drunk driving, 39 cases of driving without a license, and 1 case of reckless driving. Although there were no large-scale gatherings of motorcycle gangs, some individual violations by motorcycles were identified and addressed on the spot. The National Police Agency previously stated that, alongside this enforcement, it would also investigate illegal modifications of motorcycles and hold both owners and modification businesses legally accountable.
An official from the National Police Agency stated, "Going forward, we will continue to actively crack down on violations of everyday regulations that citizens wish to see eradicated, such as noise-causing behavior by motorcycles, particularly on major holidays and weekends."
