Youngjin College in Daegu (President Choi Jaeyoung) announced on March 2, 2026, that it had achieved a 100% enrollment rate for the 2026 academic year (associate degree, bachelor's degree, and professional technical master's programs), with a total of 4,010 students completing registration by the final deadline.
This accomplishment is supported by the university's strong competitiveness, having ranked first for 15 consecutive years as the "Most Respected Junior College" and also being ranked first nationwide for overseas employment. Even amid a declining school-age population, the college exceeded 4,000 enrollees, once again proving its top-level competitiveness in student recruitment nationwide.
The college held its entrance ceremony on the morning of February 27 in the on-campus International Seminar Room, marking a fresh start for new students in the associate degree, bachelor's degree, and professional technical master's programs. The event commenced with President Choi Jaeyoung's official declaration of admission, followed by the new student representative's oath and a welcoming address. The student council executives also greeted the new student representatives, pledging harmony and mutual support between upperclassmen and freshmen.
Notably, this year saw the admission of the first cohort in the newly established AI Computer Security major and Sports Management department, both created to meet industry demand, signaling the launch of talent development for future new industries.
In his welcoming address, President Choi Jaeyoung stated, "I hope you discover new possibilities and grow by keeping an open mind and a spirit of challenge toward learning," adding, "The university will spare no effort to ensure that your learning and experiences at Youngjin enrich your lives and serve as a foundation for new leaps forward."
The college once again proved its strength as a leader in overseas employment, having ranked first among junior colleges nationwide in the Ministry of Education's "2026 Higher Education Employment Statistics Survey" released in January. In addition, Youngjin College was named the most respected junior college in Korea in the "2026 Korea's Most Respected Companies" survey released last month by KMAC (Korea Management Association Consulting), maintaining its first-place ranking for 15 consecutive years since the survey began.
The college has also shown outstanding results in domestic employment. Over the past 10 years, a total of 3,788 graduates have been hired by major companies in Korea, with an annual average of more than 300 students joining affiliates of leading corporations such as Samsung, LG, SK, Hyundai Motor, POSCO, Hanwha, Shinsegae, and Lotte.
Youngjin College plans to further strengthen its status as a prestigious university for global employment by accelerating its efforts to enhance students' employability and expand global opportunities, based on customized education for new industries such as AI and demand-driven programs.
