Yeongcheon City will once again provide an entrance congratulatory grant of 200,000 won per student to celebrate the enrollment of new elementary school students this year, following last year's initiative.
The recipients are students who are registered residents of Yeongcheon as of March 3 and are entering elementary school for the first time.
The application period runs from March 3 to November 30. The student's parents or guardians must visit the local township or neighborhood administrative welfare center in person to apply.
The grant will be loaded onto a Yeongcheon Sarang Card issued in the applicant's name. If you do not already have this card, it is recommended to obtain one in advance to ensure smooth disbursement.
To ensure that the entrance congratulatory grant is used to help children prepare for school life, the eligible types of businesses where it can be spent have been designated.
The grant can be used at Yeongcheon local currency affiliate stores that are registered under the following categories: books, stationery, private academies, study materials, general clothing, shoes, bags, as well as sportswear and sporting goods.
Funds can be used until December 15, 2026, and any unused balance after this date will expire, so recipients must use the grant within the valid period.
A city official stated, "We hope the entrance congratulatory grant will ease the educational expenses for parents and provide meaningful support to cheer on the children's new beginnings."
