Inje County Builds Database of 719 Tourism Destinations Across 13 Categories
Establishes a Digital Hub for Stay-Type Tourism
Inje County in Gangwon Province has completed the construction of the ‘Inje County Smart Tourism Integrated Platform,’ which enables users to handle everything from searching for tourism information to making reservations and payments with just a smartphone, and is now beginning full-scale operation.
This project is a core task of the initiative to create a smart tourism city, aiming to establish Inje as a digital hub that supports stay-type tourism.
The key feature of the platform is that it allows tourists to seamlessly access all services required during their trip, from start to finish, all in one place.
The county launched the project in January 2025, completing the tourism environment analysis and service planning, and has been greeting visitors through pilot operations since February this year.
The newly introduced platform can be easily accessed via a mobile web browser without the need to install a separate application.
The platform contains extensive tourism data, covering 719 destinations across 13 categories in Inje County, including tourist attractions, experience facilities, festivals, restaurants, accommodations, and more.
In particular, it offers map-based guidance and real-time navigation features, allowing travelers to conveniently find their way to their destinations even in unfamiliar locations without feeling lost.
Personalized services tailored to each tourist’s preferences have also been enhanced.
Users can create their own itineraries by selecting preferred attractions through the ‘Create Travel Itinerary’ feature.
In addition, theme-based sightseeing and experience recommendations powered by a suggestion algorithm make it easy to discover hidden gems in Inje that visitors might not have known about.
While traveling, real-time notifications and nearby tourism information are provided using location data, further enhancing the on-site experience.
The greatest advantage is that information acquisition naturally leads to actual consumption.
The platform is linked with the accommodation reservation service (ONDA) and the local tourism pass, ‘Inje Tour Pass,’ enabling users to instantly book and pay for desired accommodations or experience products directly within the platform.
This allows tourists to enjoy a seamless one-stop service without having to visit multiple websites, and is also expected to provide new sales channels for local small businesses through the platform.
An official from Inje County stated, “With the establishment of this platform, a digital environment has been created where tourists can experience the charms of Inje more easily and conveniently,” adding, “We will continue to expand customized content and services that can increase tourists’ length of stay and revitalize the local economy.”
