The United States and Israel have been exchanging long-range attacks-using missiles, drones, and aircraft-against Iran since February 28. As of March 2 (local time), the clashes have continued for a third consecutive day.
According to major foreign media outlets such as Reuters, explosions were heard in various parts of Tehran on March 2. This occurred just past 3 a.m. local time in Tehran. The Israeli military announced that it was carrying out a new large-scale assault targeting sites across Tehran on that day.
Israel was also reported to have come under external attack as dawn broke on March 2. The Israeli military stated that multiple rockets were launched across the Lebanese border and that they had intercepted them.
There are suspicions that Hezbollah, which has long received support from Iran, may be responsible for this attack. The United States has declared its intention to continue military action against Iran for a considerable period.
President Donald Trump, in a video address released for the second time since the commencement of the offensive against Iran on March 1, vowed retaliation for the deaths of U.S. soldiers and emphasized that military operations against Iran would "continue until all objectives are achieved."
President Trump also announced the death of Khamenei the previous day, stating, "Powerful and precise bombings will continue without interruption throughout this week, or for as long as necessary to achieve the goal of peace across the Middle East and the world."
