Hana Financial Group announced on March 2 that, in light of the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Middle East following the recent Iran crisis, it will promptly implement humanitarian support measures-including essential supplies and relief packages-for affected Korean nationals in the region, after consultation with relevant government agencies.
Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Youngjoo stated, "We will mobilize all our resources to help Korean nationals and businesses, who are suffering due to unexpected international instability, to regain stability as quickly as possible," and added, "We will continue to fulfill our role as a financial group committed to social responsibility in the future."
Hana Bank has established a proactive response system according to various scenarios in light of the escalating crisis in the Middle East and will provide emergency special financial support to help stabilize the management of companies affected by the Iran crisis.
First, Hana Bank will supply a total of 12 trillion won in funds to provide urgent liquidity support to companies impacted by the Iran crisis and will offer up to 500 million won in emergency management stabilization funds to each affected company. In addition, domestic companies that have suffered losses will be supported through measures such as: ▲ extension of loan maturities for up to one year, ▲ postponement of installment repayments for up to six months, and ▲ reductions in loan interest rates by up to 1.0 percentage point.
This financial support is targeted at: ▲ companies operating in the Middle East, ▲ companies that have engaged in import/export transactions with the Middle East since January of last year or have such transactions scheduled, and ▲ other affected companies, including suppliers and partner firms associated with the aforementioned companies.
Meanwhile, Hana Bank has established a "Rapid Response Task Force for the Iran Crisis" within the bank to strengthen monitoring of the conflict region and to continue providing prompt and proactive support.
