Jang Hangjun: "Grateful Every Day"
The movie 'The Man Living with the King' has surpassed 8 million viewers.
According to distributor Showbox on March 1, director Jang Hangjun's 'The Man Living with the King' recorded a cumulative audience of approximately 8,006,000 as of 9 a.m. on this day.
Director Jang Hangjun said, "8 million people have watched the movie. Not only myself, but the entire production team and cast all feel that this is a number none of us ever imagined," adding, "We are all spending each day with deep gratitude."
Park Jihoon, who played Danjong Lee Hongwi, expressed his thanks, saying, "Thanks to your love, 'The Man Living with the King' has reached 8 million," while Yoo Haejin, who played Eom Heungdo, the village chief of Gwangcheongol, where Danjong was exiled, wrote, "Thank you sincerely for the overwhelming love we never expected."
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing network, 'The Man Living with the King' drew about 655,000 viewers the previous day. With the holiday for Independence Movement Day extending until March 2, there is a strong possibility that the film will surpass 9 million viewers after the extended weekend.
