Announcement of Key Figures’ Deaths the Previous Day
The Israeli military announced on March 1 (local time) that it had launched airstrikes for a second consecutive day targeting Iran in the early morning hours.
In a statement, the Israeli military said, "The military has begun additional airstrikes targeting ballistic missile facilities and air defense networks held by the Iranian terrorist regime."

From the morning of the previous day, the Israeli military, together with U.S. forces, conducted multiple airstrikes on major cities across Iran, including the capital Tehran, Qom, Isfahan, Karaj, Shiraz, and Kermanshah. The United States and Israel announced that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in the airstrikes the previous day.
The Israeli military also stated that, in addition to the Supreme Leader, key figures in Iran's defense and security sectors were killed in the bombings, including Supreme Leader's military adviser Ali Shamkhani, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Ground Forces commander Mohammad Pakpour, Supreme Leader's Military Affairs Bureau chief Mohammad Shirazi, and Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh.
