Husband's Request: "Let My Terminally Ill Wife Get the Kills"
Gamers and Company Lend Support... "Let's Play Together Again Next Time"
A moving story has drawn attention, in which a husband’s heartfelt message about wanting to give his terminally ill wife a once-in-a-lifetime gaming experience inspired hundreds of gamers and even the game company to act.
On the night of February 18, a man posted on the official Battlegrounds (PUBG) Cafe, sharing that his wife was hospitalized with terminal stage stomach cancer. The writer, Mr. A, explained, “My wife, the mother of our two children and the love of my life, is 31 years old and has been diagnosed with Borrmann type 4 stage stomach cancer with peritoneal metastasis. She is currently hospitalized in a condition where neither surgery nor chemotherapy is possible.”

He wrote, “My wife and I have always loved the game Battlegrounds. Seeing the phrase ‘Today’s dinner is chicken’ after winning first place was one of the reasons life felt happy.”
Mr. A explained that, with the support of a company, his wife was recently able to play the game on a laptop in her hospital room, and added, “I would like to ask for the impossible-for people to let my wife get kills in the game.” He continued, “Other than bots (computer players), my wife has never killed more than five real users,” and pleaded for the chance to give her the best gameplay experience possible.
As soon as the post was published, comments such as “I’ll help right away” and “I’ll definitely join” poured in. According to Mr. A, around 300 people expressed their willingness to participate, and the game operator and related staff also helped prepare a custom match after seeing the story.
As a result, at 11 p.m. on February 22, a total of 99 people-including famous streamers, cafe supporters, company staff, and regular users-gathered for Mr. A’s wife. That night, she achieved 95 kills and won first place. Since the maximum number of players in a match is 100, this meant that virtually all other participants gladly allowed her to win.

After the match, dozens of players gathered around her character, holding up a banner that read “Good Night” and captured the moment in a commemorative scene. Participants said their goodbyes, adding, “Let’s play together again next time.”
The following day, Mr. A shared his reflections along with a photo of his wife playing the game in her hospital room. He wrote, “My wife is happy and enjoying herself. After her terminal diagnosis on the last day of 2025, I had not seen her smile like this until now.”
He continued, “We received a level of kindness and love that we never imagined. Once again, I felt that this is truly a wonderful world and a happy life. All of you are heroes to our family,” expressing his gratitude.
