Reflecting Key Municipal Tasks Such as Administrative Integration and Relocation of Military Airport
Includes Level 3 Promotions for Inchai Hwang, Director of Citizen Communication, and Jin-ho So, Chief Secretary
Gwangju Metropolitan City has carried out a round of promotions reflecting responses to key municipal issues and organizational performance.
On February 28, Gwangju City announced that it had approved promotions for a total of 99 employees, including 2 at level 3, 5 at level 4, and 15 at level 5.
This round of promotions was conducted to proactively respond to major issues such as the administrative integration of Gwangju and South Jeolla Province and the construction of an integrated military and civilian airport, as well as to systematically prepare for the 50th anniversary commemorative projects for the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement.
The city explained that, in accordance with the personnel principles of the 8th popularly elected administration, candidates for promotion were selected based on performance-based evaluations from the past three years. Those chosen were mainly public officials who contributed to increasing organizational trust while carrying out key municipal tasks.
The level 3 Deputy Director General promotions were awarded to Inchai Hwang, Director of Citizen Communication, and Jin-ho So, Chief Secretary.
Director Inchai Hwang was recognized for leading field-oriented administration in the processes of conflict resolution and public opinion gathering, while Chief Secretary Jin-ho So was evaluated as having played a bridging role in delivering municipal philosophy to the administrative field.
In addition, five people were included in the list of level 4 Director promotions: Youngkyu Kim, Head of Climate Response Policy; Yongbeom Park, Head of Industrial Policy; Ansuk Jang, Head of Consumer Protection; Kyungsoo Kim, Head of Relocation Projects; and Choongseok Yoo, Head of Road Planning. Each has been working in key departments on major issues, including climate response policy, industrial policy, consumer protection, relocation projects, and road planning.
The scope of this round of promotions covers a total of 99 people, including 2 at level 3, 5 at level 4, and 15 at level 5.
