10% Instant Discount and 2% Post-Purchase Cashback
Issuance Volume of KRW 8 Billion, Sales Continue Until Budget Runs Out
10% Regular Discount Begins in April
Naju City in South Jeolla Province will raise the discount rate for the Naju Love Gift Certificate to 12% in March as part of efforts to boost sluggish consumer sentiment and revitalize the local commercial district, thus concluding its first-quarter consumption promotion policies.
The city announced on February 27 that it will adjust the discount rate for mobile and card-type Naju Love Gift Certificates to 12% (10% instant discount and 2% cashback) and will launch a special discount sale starting March 3.
This measure expands the originally planned 11% discount for March to 12%, following changes in the conditions for national and provincial government support.
After offering an 11% discount in January and a special 15% discount for the Lunar New Year in February, the city is focusing on stimulating consumption early in the year by issuing a total of KRW 26 billion in the first quarter, including the 12% discount in March.
The March discount will be operated in a structure of 10% instant discount and 2% post-purchase cashback. The instant discount is applied immediately upon purchase, while the 2% cashback will be credited based on the transaction amount.
The cashback applies even if the payment is made using an existing balance, regardless of whether the user makes a new purchase.
The issuance volume is KRW 8 billion, and sales will continue until the allocated budget is exhausted.
As cases of early sellouts at the beginning of the month have recently become common, citizens wishing to purchase are advised to apply according to the sales schedule.
Mobile and card-type Naju Love Gift Certificates can be applied for and issued through the regional gift certificate "chak" app or local financial institutions. Cashback accumulation details can be checked within the app, and the cashback function must be set to 'ON' in order to use it.
Starting in April, the city plans to maintain a 10% regular discount rate for both mobile and card-type Naju Love Gift Certificates, and will also implement additional special discounts during the September-October holiday and local festival period.
A city official stated, "Raising the discount rate for March is an important decision to wrap up first-quarter consumption stimulation," and added, "We will continue to promote flexible discount policies that provide practical support to the local commercial sector."
