During the meeting, participants conducted a comprehensive review of the detailed project implementation performance and outcomes according to the 2025 annual implementation plan, and examined the execution and policy effectiveness of the regional social security plan. Council members shared key achievements and discussed directions for future improvements.
After the meeting, the "First Regional Leader Life Keeper Training" was conducted for the council members. As representatives of the region, council members serve as life keepers, playing a role in spreading a culture of respect for life and building a community safety net for suicide prevention. The city explained that this training aims to strengthen a community-based life protection system by enhancing members' awareness and response capabilities.
Mayor Bang Sehwan stated, "The Regional Social Security Representative Council is a key governance body that deliberates on the direction of Gwangju City's welfare policy together," and added, "I ask for your continued interest and participation to expand the culture of respect for life and establish a thorough welfare safety net."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju City Regional Social Security Council is responsible for establishing, reviewing, and monitoring the regional social security plan, and is strengthening the regional welfare governance system based on public-private cooperation.
