Superintendent Kim Daejung:
"Grateful for Your Noble Dedication to Advancing Education in Jeonnam"
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education held the "Ceremony for Awarding Medals and Decorations to Retired Teachers at the End of February 2026" in the main conference hall of its headquarters on February 27.
According to the office, a total of 254 individuals, including kindergarten, elementary, and secondary school teachers who have dedicated their entire careers to advancing education in Jeonnam, were selected for government awards and ministerial commendations.

The breakdown of recipients is as follows: 22 for the Hwangjo Order of Service Merit, 93 for the Hongjo Order of Service Merit, 57 for the Nokjo Order of Service Merit, 47 for the Okjo Order of Service Merit, 22 for the Service Merit Medal, 3 for Presidential Commendations, 6 for Prime Minister's Commendations, and 4 for Ministerial Commendations. They were recognized for their contributions to education and for exemplifying a love for their students, with some having taught for over 40 years.
Superintendent Kim Daejung expressed deep gratitude at the event to the teachers who devoted their lives to education and are now retiring with honor.
Superintendent Kim emphasized, "The dedication teachers poured into their classrooms, keeping the lights on late into the night, has become the shining constellation of Jeonnam's education. I deeply respect the noble journey in which you always prioritized the growth of your students above your own."
