4% Additional Cashback on Payment
Expectations for Livelihood Recovery and Small Business Sales
Boseong County in Jeollanam-do announced that starting in March, the maximum discount benefit for the Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate (card type) will be expanded to up to 14%.
This special discount is being implemented as part of a project following the finalization of the national funding ratio for areas with declining populations. It is a measure to support local small businesses in recovering sales and to revitalize local consumption as part of the county’s livelihood economy policy.
Currently, the card-type Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate offers a 10% discount at the time of purchase and a 2% cashback on the amount spent, totaling a 12% benefit. From March, an additional 2% cashback will be accumulated upon payment, allowing users to enjoy a maximum discount effect of up to 14%.
The accumulated cashback can be used via the 'Cashback ON/OFF' function in the 'Chak' local gift certificate application. When set to ON, the accumulated amount will be deducted first upon payment.
The paper-type Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate will continue to offer a 10% discount as before. The combined monthly purchase limit for card-type and paper-type certificates remains unchanged at 700,000 won. This additional benefit may end early if the allocated budget is exhausted.
To prevent fraudulent distribution resulting from the expanded discount rate, the county plans to strengthen monitoring of purchase and exchange histories through the integrated gift certificate management system. In addition, on-site inspections will be intensified at affiliated stores suspected of irregular transactions to establish a healthy distribution order.
The Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate card can be issued at local branches of agricultural and livestock cooperatives, Saemaul Geumgo, credit unions, and Kwangju Bank. It can also be issued non-face-to-face after signing up through the 'Chak' local gift certificate app on a mobile phone. The county plans to actively promote the use of the card-type gift certificate so that more residents can experience tangible benefits.
A county official stated, "The Boseong Sarang Gift Certificate is a robust livelihood economic policy that provides direct benefits to residents' households while supporting the sales of small businesses. We hope this expanded implementation will serve as an opportunity to inject new vitality into the local economy."
