Collaboration with Tailim Packaging
Solar-Powered Eco-Friendly Boxes Introduced in Logistics Operations
E-Land Retail announced on February 27 that it will strengthen its ESG management practices by introducing eco-friendly packaging boxes.
E-Land Retail has collaborated with Tailim Packaging, an affiliate of the Global SeAH Group, to introduce eco-friendly corrugated boxes produced using solar power generation facilities into its distribution process.
The newly adopted packaging boxes are manufactured using more than 20% solar-based eco-friendly energy during the production process and will be applied to approximately 1.3 million boxes annually. Through this initiative, the company aims to reduce indirect carbon emissions generated in the distribution process and reinforce its eco-friendly supply chain system.
In particular, these packaging materials are produced based on a resource-circulating production system, minimizing environmental impact from the raw material stage through to production and distribution. A lightweight packaging design is also being implemented in parallel, which is expected to reduce paper usage, thereby improving both carbon emission reduction and logistics efficiency.
An E-Land Retail representative stated, "ESG in the distribution industry should be practiced not only in store operations but throughout the entire supply chain. The transition to eco-friendly packaging is one of the most tangible changes that customers can experience in their daily lives. We will continue to implement sustainable management practices on the ground."
