Daejeon City is launching the "2026 Youth Certification and Official Language Exam Fee Support Program" to ease the burden of job preparation for unemployed young people and support their personal development.

This program will provide exam fee assistance for certifications and official language tests to approximately 2,100 unemployed individuals aged 18 to 39 who are registered residents of Daejeon. The total budget allocated for the program is 280 million won.

Eligible applicants are unemployed youth who are registered residents of Daejeon as of the application date. Those who have actually taken an exam after January 1 of this year are eligible for support regardless of whether they passed the exam.

The maximum amount of support is 100,000 won per person, and each individual can apply up to three times per year. The program covers a total of 877 types of exams, including official language tests, the Korean History Proficiency Test, national technical certifications, national professional certifications, and nationally accredited private certifications.

Applicants can apply starting February 27 by accessing the Daejeon Youth Portal website and submitting the following documents: a certified copy of resident registration, a health insurance qualification certificate, proof of exam participation, a receipt for the exam fee payment, and a copy of the applicant's bank account.

After application, candidates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis following document review. Selected applicants will receive reimbursement of their exam fees via their bank accounts by around the 10th of the following month.

Min Donghee, Director of Education Policy and Strategy, stated, "This program was established to reduce the financial burden and promote capacity building for young people preparing for employment in Daejeon." He also encouraged the active interest and participation of local youth.
