78% of Export Companies Recognize the Need for AI,
But Only 17% Are Using It
Kicking Off in Seoul on February 27...
24 Nationwide Roadshow Briefings Planned This Year
The Korea International Trade Association held the 'AI-Powered Overseas Marketing Briefing' at Trade Tower in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on February 27 to strengthen the AI utilization capabilities of export-focused small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Heecheol Jung, Head of Trade Promotion at the Korea International Trade Association, is giving the opening address at the 'AI Utilization Overseas Marketing Briefing' held on the 27th at Trade Tower, Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Korea International Trade Association
This briefing was organized to present practical overseas marketing strategies for SMEs that face difficulties in implementing AI in the field, even though the use of AI has emerged as a key element of corporate competitiveness.
According to a survey by the Association, 78% of export companies strongly agree on the need to introduce AI to enhance work efficiency, but only 16.9% are currently using AI in their operations. The Association planned this briefing to bridge the gap between awareness and practical application.
In response, the Association rebranded the AI utilization briefings, which were previously operated individually by 13 regional offices, into an integrated program called 'KITA AI Trade School' and standardized the briefing model. In particular, reflecting on-site demand from companies, the program consists of two tracks-overseas marketing and market research/buyer discovery-with a total of 55 courses.
At the event, attended by more than 200 export company professionals, participants received detailed explanations and directly reviewed real-world application cases regarding AI-based content planning and production, market research automation techniques, and the use of trade data for buyer discovery, thereby enhancing their practical AI skills.
Heecheol Jung, Head of the Trade Promotion Department at the Korea International Trade Association, stated, "AI is no longer a choice but a vital element that determines export competitiveness and survival in the trade industry. Through the standardized briefing model, we will strengthen field-oriented support so that companies can immediately adopt AI in their operations and achieve tangible export results."
The Association plans to refine the program by incorporating feedback from participating companies, starting with this Seoul briefing, and to hold a total of 24 roadshow briefings nationwide throughout the year.
