Applications Accepted In Person at Incheon City Hall from March 16 to 20
On February 27, Incheon City announced that it will supply 700 units of the “Thousand-Won Housing,” a rental housing program with a daily rent of 1,000 won (30,000 won per month).
As of this date, eligible applicants must be members of households without a home and must meet specific requirements according to category, such as newlywed couples within seven years of marriage, engaged couples, and households with newborns. The recruitment consists of 200 units for the “Newlywed & Newborn Type II” category and 500 units for the “Jeonse Rental Type Dundeun Housing” (non-apartment type).
For the “Newlywed & Newborn Type II” category, applicants’ total household income must be at or below 130% of the previous year’s average monthly income of urban workers (up to 200% if combined with the spouse’s income), and total assets must meet the asset threshold for public rental housing with a six-year mandatory lease period convertible to ownership.
Priority for move-in is given in the following order: first, households with newborns and eligible single-parent families; second, newlywed and engaged couples with minor children, and single-parent families with children aged six or younger; and third, newlywed and engaged couples without minor children. In the event of competition within the same priority group, applicants are ranked based on their total score, determined by summing the points of evaluation criteria.
For the “Jeonse Rental Type Dundeun Housing,” there are no income or asset requirements. Priority is given first to households with newborns and multi-child households with at least two minor children, and second to newlywed and engaged couples. If there is competition within the same priority group, the final ranking is determined by a random lottery.

As application qualifications and support conditions differ by type and duplicate applications are not permitted, applicants must carefully review the announcement before applying. Applications will be accepted at the central hall of Incheon City Hall from March 16 to 20, and details can be found on the websites of Incheon City and Incheon Housing and City Development Corporation (iH).
For the Thousand-Won Housing, selected applicants can directly choose a jeonse rental home within the support limit, and iH will sign the jeonse contract with the owner. The unit is then provided at an affordable rent of 1,000 won per day.
An official from Incheon City stated, “We will continue to provide practical housing support to ensure that newlywed couples and households with newborns who are struggling with housing costs can live with peace of mind.”
