No price hikes for four years since December 2022
Direct building purchases for franchise stores also ease their burden
Ace Bed announced on February 27 that it has decided to freeze prices on all of its products in 2026. Despite rising raw material prices and persistent high inflation, the company has chosen not to raise prices for the fourth consecutive year in order to ease the financial burden on consumers.
This move contrasts with the broader furniture industry, where many companies are raising prices. Ace Bed has not implemented any additional price increases for approximately 3 years and 2 months since a one-time price adjustment in December 2022. The company explained that this decision goes beyond a strategy to maintain market share and is intended to promote mutual growth with consumers amid difficult economic conditions.
Ace Bed views curbing price increases and maintaining price guidelines in the market as part of the social responsibilities that a leading company in the industry should fulfill. The company expects this to provide practical help to end users who are facing marriage preparations or moving and are concerned about expenses, by easing household financial burdens and helping them save on their budgets.
Ace Bed is also upholding a principle of win-win management with its partner franchise store owners. Over the past 15 years, it has invested about 470 billion won to directly purchase buildings such as Ace Square, its regional hub stores, thereby creating a stable business environment for franchise owners.
By having the headquarters itself become the building owner, setting rents below surrounding market rates, and freezing those rents for long periods, the company has reduced the management burden on store owners stemming from rising rental costs. During the COVID-19 period, it also directly provided more than 2 billion won in rent and labor cost support to franchise stores nationwide.
In addition, to fulfill its social responsibility to local communities, Ace Bed has continued to donate white rice during major holidays for the past 28 years, supported 1.1 billion won in wildfire recovery funds, and has been steadily carrying out social contribution activities such as support for patients with Lou Gehrig's disease and briquette donation and sharing volunteer work.
An Ace Bed official said, "Taking into account that this is a difficult time for all members of society, including consumers, due to economic uncertainty, we have decided to maintain our price freeze policy this year as well," adding, "In line with our management philosophy of returning corporate profits to society, we will continue our win-win management that grows together with customers and partners, and we will pursue sincere management through concrete actions and results rather than flashy rhetoric."
