The Korea Startup Forum (KOSPO) announced on the 27th that it has elected CEO Kim Jaewon as its 5th chair.
On the 26th, KOSPO delegates unanimously elected Kim, who ran as the sole candidate, as the 5th chair at the KOSPO General Assembly of Delegates held at MARU180 in Gangnam. Around 60 people attended the assembly, including 4th chair Han Sangwoo, CEO of Wizdom, vice chairs, as well as board member companies, delegate companies, and full member companies.

The new chair Kim stated in his inaugural remarks, "Starting from 2026, which marks the 10th anniversary of our launch, we will take the lead in ensuring that the seeds of the past 10 years bear rich fruit in the startup ecosystem by promoting regulatory innovation in new industries, such as introducing an artificial intelligence (AI) technology quota system, and by strengthening global cooperation."
At the event, KOSPO presented the results and closing accounts of its 2025 projects, and key agenda items such as this year's business plan and budget proposal were approved.
This year, to mark the 10th anniversary of its launch, KOSPO has set more sophisticated and advanced goals and declared a transition from being merely a facilitator that provides a venue for innovation to becoming a "problem-solving platform" that designs the next 10 years of Korean startups. In particular, it plans to enhance industrial competitiveness by supporting member companies' AX, and to solidify the institutional foundation for regulatory innovation and growth by revitalizing startup policy agendas.
