Pangyo Library was selected as the recipient in the group category of the "58th Korea Library Award," organized by the Korean Library Association, and recently received a plaque and a nameplate at the award ceremony held in the multipurpose hall of Seoul City Hall.

The Korean Library Association reviewed 47 libraries that took part in the evaluation out of 1,683 national, public, and university libraries across the country, and selected Seongnam City's Pangyo Library as the awardee.

Pangyo Library received high marks for promoting reading, education, and social contribution programs tailored to the characteristics of the local community.

These include the "Book Package Experiential Education Sharing Service," which delivers 200 to 300 books to kindergartens and public childcare centers and reads them to children; the online reading program "Reading One Book Together," which allows participation without restrictions of time and space; and "Sharing Voices," in which recordings made after read-aloud training are donated to a braille library.

In addition, the library operates various reading culture programs tailored to different life stages, such as cultural classes for adults and elementary school students, as well as vacation special lectures and reading classes for elementary school students.

It is being recognized for contributing to making reading a routine part of life for local residents and for establishing a foundation for lifelong learning.

A Seongnam City official said, "We will continue to provide future-oriented library services that keep pace with the changing information environment and bring us closer to our citizens."
