The People Power Party strongly protested on the 26th that the motion to appoint Chun Youngsik, its recommended candidate for the standing member of the Broadcasting, Media and Telecommunications Committee, had been voted down at the National Assembly plenary session due to opposition from the Democratic Party of Korea, declaring that it "cannot cooperate with the future operation of the National Assembly."

Meeting with reporters in front of the plenary chamber, Floor Leader Song Eonseok said, "The Democratic Party has stabbed us in the back once again. The Democratic Party cast opposing votes on the appointment of the standing member of the Broadcasting, Media and Telecommunications Committee, which had already been agreed to be handled today, and rejected it yet again," adding, "We strongly condemn the outrageous act of the Democratic Party."
He continued, "If they agree in advance and then vote it down behind the scenes, what reason is there to reach agreements on bills and agenda items in the National Assembly? It means they do not need the opposition party," criticizing that "the Democratic Party has broken the spirit of agreement and is unilaterally running the National Assembly arbitrarily to suit its own taste."
He also said, "The law recognizes each party's right to recommend personnel appointments, but if they vote a person down simply because that person does not suit their taste, that empties out the legal recognition of each party's recommendation right and denies the spirit of the law."
At the plenary session that day, the motion to appoint Chun Youngsik, recommended by the People Power Party as a standing member of the Broadcasting, Media and Telecommunications Committee, was rejected, while the motion to appoint Ko Minsu, recommended by the Democratic Party, as a standing member was approved.
