From AI Drone Applications to Counter-Drone Response and Export Strategies... Discussions Among About 200 Domestic and International Experts
Soonchunhyang University has presented AI drones and counter-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial System) technologies as a core national security industry and opened a forum to discuss strategies for entering the global market.
Soonchunhyang University held the "4th Drone Security Strategy Institute International Seminar" on the 26th at the BEXCO Convention Hall in Busan.
The seminar was jointly organized by the Soonchunhyang University Drone Security Strategy Institute, the Graduate School of Drone Security Convergence, the Korea Counter-Drone Industry Association, the Cognitive Science Industry Association, and the Korea CPTED Society, under the theme of "Development Plans and Export Strategies for AI Drone and Counter-Drone Systems."
About 200 participants attended the event, including President Song Byungkook; Yang Jinchai, President of the World Drone Federation; Yang Byunghee, President of the Korea Counter-Drone Industry Association; Bae Soonkeun, Head of the Defense MICE Research Institute; National Assembly member Yoo Yongwon; domestic and international officials; and representatives from drone associations in Mongolia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.
President Song stated, "AI drone security is a core strategic industry that protects national security and public safety," adding, "Through the 'K-Drone Security Foundry,' which connects research, education, and industry, we will build a platform for a leap into the global market."
Soonchunhyang University plans to link the Drone Security Strategy Institute with the Graduate School of Drone Security Convergence to build a "foundry-type drone security ecosystem" in which research outcomes are carried over into education and industry.
