Dongducheon City Council Holds Roundtable with Middle and High School Principals
Joining Forces with Local School Leaders to Address Declining School-Age Population
Gyeonggi Province Dongducheon City Council (Chair Kim Seungho) announced on the 26th that it held a roundtable on the 25th in the council's multipurpose room with local middle and high school principals to promote the development of local education.

This roundtable was organized to secure Dongducheon City's own differentiated educational competitiveness in a rapidly changing environment driven by declining school-age population and advances in AI technology, by listening to voices from the educational field.
During the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on current issues and future directions for local education. In particular, the principals proposed support for student clubs, improvements to school facilities, the creation of clean and safe environments around schools, and the diversification of programs linked with local universities along with the establishment of advanced courses.
Chair Kim Seungho stated, "Education is the most important core task that will determine the future of Dongducheon," adding, "We will thoroughly review the various education-related issues discussed today and do our utmost to make Dongducheon a 'city with an excellent educational environment for raising children' through close cooperation with the Office of Education and executive agencies."
Meanwhile, based on the proposals raised at this roundtable, Dongducheon City Council plans to review practical support measures, including related ordinances and securing budgetary resources.
