Various Prizes Offered Through a Lottery Drawing
Mirae Asset Securities announced on February 26 that it will hold a purchase event for the "Mirae Asset Negotiable Certificate of Deposit (CD) Rate Plus ETN."
During the event period, which runs until May 20, customers who purchase this exchange-traded note (ETN) will be entered into a drawing to receive various prizes, including BBQ Chicken, two cups of Starbucks coffee, and a 500,000 won Korean Air flight ticket.
Some of the event programs are also open to customers who hold accounts with other securities firms, not only those with Mirae Asset Securities accounts. Detailed information is available on the Mirae Asset Securities website and its mobile trading system (MTS).
The Mirae Asset CD Rate Plus ETN is a product that targets the 91-day CD rate as its yield to maturity (YTM). In particular, when the interest rate on the underlying asset, the CD, remains within a pre-set range (1.0% to 4.0% per annum), the product is designed to add an additional 0.1% return on top of the CD yield. The strategy of seeking extra returns using a single underlying asset differentiates it from existing similar products.
In addition, under the total return index (TR) method, all distributions are reinvested and reflected in the index value. With no monthly distributions and a structure in which the additional interest rate and daily returns are reinvested, it has an interest rate competitiveness compared with ETPs that track only the minimum 91-day CD rate.
A Mirae Asset Securities representative said, "This ETN is suitable for investors who are considering increasing their cash holdings in the short term," adding, "The fact that investors can pursue additional returns using a 'single CD underlying asset,' rather than complicated conditions or multiple underlying assets, will be a strong investment point compared with existing products."
This ETN can be traded like a common stock after listing, and inquiries regarding ETN trading and online trading methods can be addressed through the Mirae Asset Securities customer center.
