All 7 Candidates in the 8th Examination Pass
100% Pass Rate in National Examinations for 2 Consecutive Years
All students of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Kyungnam University recently took the 8th Assistive Technology Professional National Examination, administered by the Korea Health Personnel Licensing Examination Institute, and all of them passed.
An Assistive Technology Professional is a specialist who performs the evaluation, selection, customized production, application, and maintenance and management of assistive technology devices in order to minimize the physical and mental limitations that persons with disabilities and older adults experience in their daily lives and to support their functional independence.
As a result, the Department of Occupational Therapy has achieved the feat of a 100% pass rate in both the Occupational Therapist National Examination and the Assistive Technology Professional National Examination for two consecutive years, from last year through this year.
Established in 2021, the Department of Occupational Therapy at Kyungnam University has been operating a curriculum that meets the educational standards of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), based on the latest equipment and an advanced training environment. Through this, it is being recognized for having built an occupational therapy education system that aligns with international standards.
Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy Cha Sumin said, "The Department of Occupational Therapy operates an integrated curriculum that enables students to obtain not only the occupational therapist license, but also the Assistive Technology Professional license and the qualification as personnel providing sensory development rehabilitation services," adding, "We support students so that they can advance into a wide range of career paths, including medical institutions, welfare and community organizations, as well as the fields of child services, mental health, vocational rehabilitation, assistive technology, and rehabilitation research."
