The program, which previously consisted of 7 to 8 sessions, has been expanded to a total of 9 lectures and 1 cultural heritage field trip. The lecture topics will also span a wide range of fields, including archaeology, art history, history, and the humanities, providing citizens with an opportunity to gain a multidimensional understanding of history and culture.

In particular, this year’s program goes beyond simple lecture-centered classes and has been designed as a history education program that broadens the scope of reflection on the culture of our region and our country.

Key lectures include "The True-View Landscape Paintings of Gyeomjae Jeong Seon" by Lee Taeho, Distinguished Professor at Myongji University; "Museums, Spaces that Contain Civilizations" by Yoon Sungyong, former Director of the National Museum of Korea; "Re-reading the Romance of the Three Kingdoms" by Lee Sungwon, Professor at Chonnam National University; and "The Flower of the Joseon Royal Court’s Record Culture, Uigwe" by Shin Byoungjoo, Professor at Konkuk University, who is also well known to the general public.

In addition, there will be a variety of lectures on topics such as "Silla Gold Crowns: Symbols of Ancient Rulers," "Solving the Riddle of Human Evolution Through Three Clues," "The Taste and Style of Korean Classics: Sijo and Life," "The Empire’s Gaze: The East and Joseon in Paintings," and "Stories of Our Land Contained in Maps."

The program will recruit 150 adults in total, on a first-come, first-served basis, consisting of 120 new students and 30 returning students.

Registration will be open from March 3 to March 20.

Applications can be submitted in person at Gyeongsan Municipal Museum, and are accepted on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Kim Jeonggi, Director of Gyeongsan Museum, said, "The Museum Academy is a representative cultural education program that has grown together with citizens over the years," adding, "To mark this meaningful 20th year, we hope to share the joy of learning and precious memories with even more citizens."
