According to Black Swan’s agency Dr Music on the 26th, Gabi attended the Korea-Brazil state banquet hosted by President Lee Jaemyung at the Blue House State Guest House on the 23rd, joining government officials and business leaders from both countries. In particular, as President Lula greeted the attendees, he kissed the back of Gabi’s hand, showing a special sense of familiarity.

President Lula personally posted the moment of meeting and greeting Gabi on his Instagram account, and as of this morning, the video has surpassed 1.2 million views. In addition, another video in which President Lula used Black Swan’s song “Cat & Mouse” as background music has exceeded 5.6 million views, raising expectations that the track may become a sleeper hit.

Dr Music stated, “Both Gabi and the agency were surprised by the completely unexpected, last-minute invitation, but it would be a great honor if she can contribute to cultural exchanges between Korea and Brazil in the future. We are ready to attend any event whenever we are invited.”

President Lula’s wife, Rosangela da Silva, is known to be an avid K-pop fan. Before visiting Korea, she expressed her delight that Gabi is from Brazil, and on the 22nd, ahead of President Lula’s official schedule in Korea, she arranged a dinner with Gabi in Gangnam, Seoul. She also posted on her social media (SNS) a photo of herself and Gabi eating “Dduzzonku” (Dubai Jjondeuk Cookie) together.

Gabi is a member of Black Swan, a K-pop girl group composed entirely of foreign members, and was born in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. She was selected in 2022 through Dr Music’s global audition, beating odds of 4,000 to 1. Gabi is currently the only Brazilian member among active K-pop girl groups.
