The meeting, held as part of preliminary candidate Myung's efforts to promote two-way communication, brought together representatives of residents, Gyeonggi Provincial Government officials, and GH (Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation). It served as a meaningful venue to share progress and hold discussions on the "Status of Promotion of the Basic Agreement on the Private Tender for the Goyang K-Culture Valley Project in Gyeonggi Province."

In his opening remarks, preliminary candidate Myung stressed, "K-Culture Valley is a future growth engine for Goyang and a core infrastructure for the cultural industry," adding, "To prevent further confusion and recurrences, we must meticulously review the basic agreement from beginning to end."

Officials from Gyeonggi Province explained the progress of negotiations on the basic agreement for the private tender, the current status of expanding public facilities, and the reasons for the project delays. In particular, they shared plans and implementation status for expanding public facilities, and also discussed the need to extend the negotiation period for concluding the basic agreement.

Representatives of residents conveyed concerns about inconveniences in daily life and the contraction of the local economy caused by the prolonged project period, and called for the swift normalization of the project.

Preliminary candidate Myung stated, "We will conduct a thorough legal review of every clause in the basic agreement to eliminate any loopholes and block potential disputes in advance," adding, "Since this is a project that involves citizens' taxes and public assets, the conclusion of a responsible agreement must come first."

He added, "We must promptly carry out safety inspections to ensure citizens' safety as the top priority, while mobilizing all administrative capacities to bring forward the completion date as much as possible."

He also referred to Goyang City's recent emphasis on becoming a city well-suited for performances and cultural events, saying, "The flow of culture must not be cut off due to delays in completion," and proposed forming a "Task Force for the Establishment of a Temporary Performance Venue" with the participation of relevant agencies, the cultural and arts community, and local society. He continued, "We will prepare practical alternatives so that cultural events can continue through the operation of a temporary performance venue starting early next year."

Preliminary candidate Myung said, "We will ensure safety thoroughly, scrutinize the agreement without leaving any gaps, and make sure that culture does not come to a halt," adding, "Through responsible administration and practical alternatives, I will swiftly lead the normalization of K-Culture Valley."

Preliminary candidate Myung graduated from the Department of Law at Korea Aerospace University and obtained a master's degree in political science from the Graduate School of Politics at Kookmin University. He began his public service career in 1983 and served in public office for 39 years.

He served as head of Deogyang District Office and Ilsanseo District Office of Goyang City, as well as policy coordination chief, and was elected as a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council in 2022. He has since served as special aide to the Democratic Party of Korea leader, vice chair of the party's Policy Committee, and senior secretary for political affairs at the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, earning recognition as a well-prepared administrative expert who combines both expertise and on-the-ground experience in administration and politics.
