Enjoy Spectacular East Sea Views from 77 Meters Up
Samcheok Skywalk Observation Deck
Temporarily Opened in Connection with the Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival
Samcheok-si in Gangwon Province will temporarily open the Skywalk Observation Deck, which has been built along the Saecheonnyeon Coastal Road, starting on the 27th to coincide with the Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival.
From the Skywalk Observation Deck, which has been constructed around the Tower of Hope (San 81-2, Gyodong) with a height of 77 meters and a length of 100 meters, visitors can take in at a glance the sunrise over the East Sea and the spectacular coastal scenery, set against the long structure stretching out over the sea and the harmony of landscape lighting.
The city decided on the temporary opening to offer something different to see for visitors coming to the Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival, a representative seasonal custom event of the region. In particular, when it was temporarily opened once during the Lunar New Year holiday period, many visitors came and it received a very positive response.
An official from Samcheok-si said, "By temporarily opening it in connection with the Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival, we enabled citizens and tourists to experience the facility first," adding, "We will work to establish it as a new tourist attraction in the region through the observation deck, which blends with Samcheok-si's uniquely beautiful coastal scenery."
Meanwhile, the Skywalk Observation Deck is scheduled to officially open sometime in March after completion of maintenance work on the Tower of Hope and the surrounding area.
